WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM SYNERGY WOOD® PRODUCTS?

WHAT IS END-MATCHING? WHY IS IT BENEFICIAL?

End matching is the process of double end-trimming each plank using boards milled with a tongue and groove on the plank ends. This provides a male and female end, allowing the boards to be interlocked during installation and creating a mechanical bond. When boards are interlocked through end-matching, cupping potential is eliminated and wood expansion and contraction are better tolerated.

End-matched products provide many benefits including reduced waste and less labor, creating clean lines, reduce the effect of wood movement and easy installation.

Synergy Wood tongue & groove is available in V-Joint, Nickel Joint (gives a shiplap look) and Square Edge. Check out our tongue and groove guide.

HOW MUCH WOOD DO I NEED?

Our products are delivered to specification by linear feet required for your project. To calculate the amount of linear feet needed for your project, multiply the total number of square feet by 2.52 (Red Grandis Multiplier is 2.65). The resulting number includes a 5% waste factor.

For example, an exterior porch lanai measures 15' x 30'.

L(15) x W(30) = Square Feet Total (450)

SF(450) x 2.52 = Synergy Linear Feet (1,134)

You will need 1,134 linear feet of Synergy/E-Peck® to cover a 450 square feet porch lanai.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR WOOD CEILING OR WALL

Synergy Wood products are easy to care for and need little maintenance to keep it looking new and fresh. (see cleaning and care instructions).

HOW MUCH WASTE SHOULD I ACCOUNT FOR WITH SYNERGY WOOD?

Because every board is hand selected and end-matched, we recommend accounting for 5% waste. All trimmed boards with a male or female end-match are usable, regardless of their length (see installation instructions). If you are installing it yourself or are doing an intricate pattern, you may want to allow 10% or more waste. Feel free to contact us for assistance.

During our manufacturing process, we remove the normal defects found naturally in wood, which includes end checking (slight splits) and unsound knots (knots that have a chance of falling out). We strive to provide you with a 99.5% usable board.

MAY I RETURN EXTRA OR UNUSED MATERIAL?

No. Each order is custom made to project specifications.

ONE OF MY BOARDS IS SLIGHTLY BOWED. CAN THIS BE USED?

Yes. Because all boards are end-matched, slightly warped or bowed planks can be used. We recommend using them as beginning or end pieces in your project to alleviate this natural attribute of wood. Click here to see how to use what was delivered.

DOES SYNERGY WOOD CARRY A WARRANTY?

Yes. All our products carry a five-year limited warranty for any defects in the coatings or workmanship of the coatings. Our products are designed for interior and covered exterior applications. Applications where our products are exposed to direct sunlight or moisture will not be covered under this warranty.

WHAT GRADE WOOD IS USED IN SYNERGY WOOD? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

We use Standard Grade Eastern White Pine, SB Grade Red Grandis, and #2 and C Southern Pine.

  • Red Grandis  Clear of most knots and fewer color variations
  • #2 Southern Pine   Allows for large knots and some color variation
  • C Southern Pine   Mostly clear, occasional tight knot
  • Eastern White Pine   Similar to #2, allows for large knots and some color variation

WHERE DO I USE YOUR WOOD?

Currently, we manufacture our products using "softwoods" including Southern Pine and Eastern White Pine and Red Grandis (Hardwood). Installation of our Synergy collections should be limited to interior ceilings or walls, or covered exterior ceilings or walls. Though we offer a 5-year warranty, installing our products in direct exposure to sunlight or moisture will release our liability should your wood defect in any way.

Caring for your installed Synergy Wood products is easy. Check out our Care Guide.

Though we no longer manufacture Cypress, Ponderosa Pine, Alder or Cedar, some of our distributors still carry stock. Alder is meant for interior use only; Cedar and Pine may be applied using the guidelines above.
